The unexpected lesson I learned from my first boss that changed my career… ~via Ethelbert Williams, @tellnation
I initially connected with Ethelbert Williams in 2012 when I was Chief Social Marketing Officer and an equity partner at Collective Bias.
He thought deeply then as he does now. This LinkedIn post of his hit home for me, because I know, like me, Ethelbert believes this to be true
for his business as well as his personal life. I try to express this same belief in many ways including my use of "Return on Relationship" and a few of my frequently shared one-liners like...
"Relationships are like muscle tissue, the more you engage them, the stronger and more valuable they become" AND "A Network gives you Reach; A Community gives you Power!"
Thank you Ethelbert for explaining this with such clarity... /Ted
The unexpected lesson I learned from my first boss that changed my career…
…was to believe more.
I learned early in my professional journey to catch the dreamers, seek mentors and hold their hands because they all knew how to fly.
Belief for me is a core attribute of leaders on the front lines, championing digital transformation across our business.
Our aim is to get there and win together. Sometimes we are flying while other times it feels like we need to go step-by-step which is OK…Always, together.
I’m a believer.
“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
— Martin Luther King Jr.
