Return on Relationships (RoR) ~via Jean-Paul Elbekian
I met Jean-Paul Elbekian at the Millenium Alliance Transformational CMO Assembly in August after my Keynote about Customer Experience with Return on Relationship. It's meeting leaders like Jean-Paul, and inspiring posts about RETURN ON RELATIONSHIP like this one, that is the best part of Keynoting at Corporate events. /Ted
As we gather to celebrate the holiday season, I'm filled with gratitude for a transformative encounter that has reshaped my perspective on relationships, both personal and professional. Recently, I had the privilege of meeting Ted Rubin, the visionary behind the concept of Return on Relationship.
Ted's insights sparked a profound realization: the principles of RoR extend far beyond the business realm. This metric, which measures the value accrued over time through connection, trust, and loyalty, isn't just about customer relationships—it's a universal concept applicable to every aspect of our lives.
In our workplaces, RoR manifests as the bonds we forge with colleagues, the trust we build with clients, and the loyalty we cultivate within our teams. At home, it's the love we invest in our families, the memories we create, and the support we offer unconditionally. In our personal lives, it's the friendships we nurture, the communities we engage with, and the positive impact we strive to make.
Just as businesses thrive on customer connections, our lives flourish through meaningful relationships. Every interaction, every moment of vulnerability, and every act of kindness contributes to our personal RoR, enriching our lives in ways that can't be quantified but are deeply felt.
This Thanksgiving, I'm especially thankful for Ted Rubin and the spark he ignited. His concept of RoR has opened my eyes to the parallel between professional success and personal fulfillment—both rooted in the quality of our relationships.
Let's take a moment to appreciate the relationships we've cultivated and commit to investing more in them. After all, the returns—in happiness, support, and growth—are immeasurable.
I’d love to hear your thoughts: How do you measure the Return on Relationships in your own life, and what steps do you take to nurture those connections? Let's spark a conversation!
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain. Ted Rubin
